For 25 years, a federal authorities program referred to as Computer systems for Studying has been giving freely free laptop tools.
“Computer systems are costly,” Normal Companies Administration spokesman Richard Stebbins mentioned.
Though most colleges are again in-person, Stebbins mentioned the requests from academics and colleges haven’t dropped off.
“There’s a continuing demand for computer systems as a result of it’s an indispensable factor for right this moment,” he mentioned. “Colleges have laptop courses which might be being taught in any respect ranges.”
Final 12 months, 5 colleges in Maryland acquired laptop tools. And in 2019, one St. Mary’s County faculty acquired 23 of them.
