ROANOKE, Va. – A brand new grant will give college students in rural Virginia the instruments they want for the long run.
On Monday, Gov. Ralph Northam introduced greater than $1.three million in state grants to help the implementation of Virginia’s Pc Science Requirements of Studying.
Floyd County Public Faculties will obtain $77,166 every year for the subsequent three years to work with the Science Museum of Western Virginia and Virginia Tech to coach academics and create a pc science curriculum for Okay-12 college students.
The museum’s director of philanthropy, Mary Roberts-Baako, mentioned that youngsters have to be taught laptop science as a result of it may be utilized in nearly any job, from agriculture and farming, to advertising or medication.
