A big proportion of scholars taking Superior Placement (AP) pc science programs at McIntosh Excessive are feminine, and this is the reason the School Board, a nonprofit group that oversees the administration of school entrance exams, has awarded the college the AP Pc Science Feminine Range Award.
Out of 20,000 colleges that provide AP programs within the nation, solely 818 obtained the award, inserting McIntosh among the many 4 p.c of faculties being acknowledged for the steps they’re taking to achieve gender parity in pc science training.
The award is given to varsities that had a 50 p.c or larger feminine illustration in both AP Pc Science Ideas (AP CSP) or AP Pc Science A (AP CSA) in 2019, or whose proportion of feminine examinees met or exceeded that of the college’s inhabitants in 2019.
McIntosh obtained the award for AP CSA. The varsity was certainly one of 15 in Georgia to obtain the award for this course, and certainly one of 21 general recipients within the state.
