Trump President rallies supporters before Nevada caucuses

LAS VEGAS – President Donald Trump concluded a four-day campaign sojourn to the Western U.S. on Friday by appealing to Nevadans to look past the Democratic caucuses this weekend and focus instead on November.

“With your help this November, we’re going to defeat the radical socialist Democrats,” Trump told a raucous crowd at Las Vegas Convention Center on Friday. “And we’re going to win in a landslide.”

Trump, speaking for more than 100 minutes on the eve of the state’s caucus, touted the nation’s economy, dismissed the idea that Russia was once again interfering on his behalf, and told the crowd that their vote would be critically important for him as he seeks reelection in the general election.

The president’s Las Vegas remarks had a showbiz feel, as he brought on stage the 1980 gold-medal winning Olympic hockey team, talking about his family – prompting a rare chant for his teenage son Barron – repeating his criticism of the Oscars and discussing his former reality TV show, “The Apprentice.”

His remarks at the Las Vegas rally followed reports that U.S. intelligence officials told lawmakers this month that Russia is mounting an effort steer the 2020 election in his favor.

“Here we go again,” Trump told the crowd. “Aren’t people bored? It’s disinformation.”

As he spoke, The Washington Post reported that U.S. officials had briefed Sen. Bernie Sanders’s that the Russia may be also working to help him.
